A walk into Noirmoutier-en-l’Ile and a beach visit

We started today with a walk into the main town in the island, Noirmoutier-en-l’Ile and had a wander around the huge market.  We picked up some shopping and walked back to the campsite along a recently rebuilt jetty (Jetée Jacobsen) that is lovely as it’s only open to cyclists and pedestrians – a welcome break from the heavy traffic on the rest of the island!

We’d had an ice-cream on the way back and counted that as lunch.  In the afternoon we rented some bikes from the campsite and cycles across the island on a nice path through the salt marshes and went to visit a beach called Luzéronde on the West side of the island.  It was very peaceful and clean with the sea being lovely for swimming.

We cooked steak haché and green beans (haricots verts) for dinner back at the tent after a quick beer at the campsite bar.
