A vide grenier and Cordes sur Ciel
Today we got up a bit late and had
breakfast at the tent. We walked into
the local village, Vieux, to see the Sunday market which was basically a huge
car boot sale with a lot of tat and a few bits of food. It’s called a vide grenier in French, meaning
empty the attic. It was an extremely hot
day. We got back to the campsite to
collect the car and drove to Cordes sur Ciel, a beautiful old town on a
hill. We parked at the bottom and got a
little tourist train up to the top where we had a good explore, including a
church (St Michel) and eating some ice cream.
Cordes had a 7/7 Carrefour Express so we topped up on provisions before
coming back to the campsite for a rest and a swim before dinner. Dinner was served by the campsite again and
was a delicious magret de canard. We had
a good evening getting to know several of the other guests. There was intermittent rain during the
evening and a thunderstorm in the night that we largely slept though.
